- A delicate native rose with rose-pink single flowers in midsummer followed by red, round hips. Very prickly. Apple-scented foliage.
- Hips devoured by Blackbird, Greenfinch, Mistle Thrush, Song thrush and Waxwing.
- Small mammals such as bank voles will also feed on hips.
- May see hoverflies on the flowers.
